Week of September 12, 2022

As I sat down to write this newsletter, it was bittersweet realizing this would come out on 9/11. I hope everyone can take a minute and remember the lives lost and the first responders who sacrificed so much for others.

Also, I know we are all rattled after the incident on Thursday. I hope that if you have questions or concerns that you reach out to the administration. Not just for this, but for anything. Mrs. Purdy and Mr. Feak are always available to address any issues.

But let’s get on with the fun stuff! Don’t forget the 8th grade parent peer group meeting is this Thursday, September 15th! And our first General PTA meeting and Open House will be the next Thursday, September 22nd!

Thank you so much to those of you who have sent in your notes and gifts of appreciation to our amazing CSA staff members. If you haven’t sent yours in yet, please do so by the end of this week. Also, please remember to label your notes and gifts clearly with your staff member’s name.

Thank you for making our staff feel loved!

For the month of September: Let’s start the year off write! Send a needed school supply or $10 gift card to their favorite store and write a short note wishing your staff member a wonderful school year!

 REFLECTIONS

Reflections is a national PTA contest and all students are encouraged to participate.

The theme for 2022-2023 is “Show Your Voice” – please see the attached flyer for more information.

Order your copy of the 2023 Cornerstone Academy Yearbook today for $50 (prices go up on November 1st). This year’s staff is already hard at work on an awesome book. We sold out during preorders last year, so make sure you order before January 29th, 2023, to ensure your student gets a copy!

8th grade ads are also available to purchase. You can buy and create a personal ad online for your 8th grader. Last day to buy 8th grade ads is January 18th but do it now while you’re thinking about it!

Spring Branch Education Foundation believes in student success. Did your kiddo enjoy a lunch from Cane’s on Thursday? I hear it was a big hit! So thank you to Lisa Bown for organizing this fun treat for the school. And thank you to Alex Luton for helping distribute the lunches! The next Cane’s lunch will be October 20th, so keep an eye out for the sign up!
